St.
Anthony's School takes great pride in the excellent scores that students
consistently obtain on national achievement tests. Historically students
who attended St. Anthony's maintain a high academic level and a large
percentage are in the top 15% of their high school graduating class. |

here to see extracurricular activities) Scott Foresman is a phonics-based reading program that helps students develop phonics concepts through a four-step process: Identify, Hear, See & Say, & Write. Vocabulary and rich literature language is woven throughout each unit, encouraging independent reading. |
In
addition St. Anthony's uses Lightning Phonics, a program
intended to equip students with a life time method of pronouncing unfamiliar
words through an active learning process. |
| Students in kindergarten through sixth grade participate in the Accelerated Reading program. Points are earned for reading and testing on student selected books. Recogniton is given to students weekly, at the end of each six weeks, and at the end of the year. Progress is noted on a hall display in the main building. | ![]() |
Team Teaching Fourth through Sixth grade classes are involved in Team Teaching. Subjects are taught by the teacher with the highest skills in each area, giving the student the best possible learning environment reqardless of the field of study. |
Testing A standardized achievement test is given yearly. The test results are used to determine academic strengths and weaknesses and allows the teacher to make adjustments to the curriculum and to address the needs of the students. |
